2010 Rebates

Hello TN,

I'm about to purchase my first Toyota, a 2010 Camry SE V6. The MSRP is $31,020 and the best deal I've been able to find is $26,992 which includes the $1000 cash rebate from Toyota that ends August 3. That's a little under MSRP so I figure it's a great deal. But my problem is that my husband and I are moving and it would be a lot better for us to buy the car at the end of August (logistically and financially).

Do you think Toyota will have another rebate in August? Or should I just pull the trigger now? I suppose I can put a deposit down now and take delivery when I can. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance,
Maria

Every month is a new deal. It could be the same as what is offered now, it could be different. No one really knows. You have to decide what is better for you. Ultimately, we cant decide for you.

If anything, go to the dealers and tell them that you want to get the $1000 cash back offer but want to pick up the car at the end of the month and see what they say.

if they want the car sold they'll give u the same price anytime. rebates usually mean nothing as u can get same deals with and without rebate. they still have to make a certain amount.

I don't think this is exactly accurate. I was under the impression that factory rebates are actually provided by the manufacturer, not the dealership. When the car sells, the dealership discounts the vehicle by the rebate value, then gets reimbursed by the manufacturer (kind of like a mail-in rebate).

Most of these vehicle rebate deals are time sensitive meaning that you have to purchase within the promotional period of time, otherwise you will not receive the rebate. But summer time is generally a high sales volume time for cars so it is likely, IMO, that this or a similar promo will continue through the end of August.

believe whatever you want but if u come in and stand your ground you'll get the car usually for the price you want within reason. if i go in this week when rebate is good and want a se loaded to the brim for 28000 then i'll get it in a month too because economy means weak sales.
