are there any '07-'10 Camry owners who have installed
Optima batteries(35 or D35)? if so, how did you manage
to make the Camry's stock battery bracket fit the Optima
battery?

I used the spacer that came with the Optima battery to
raise its height. however, the width is the problem...
the factory Camry bracket is too wide for the Optima
battery. (by about 1/4 inch on either side)

any advice appreciated!

its okay. just bolt it down as much as u can.

Yeah... just tighten it down as much as possible. You can go to your local auto parts store, as they should have more spacers/fitters for batteries.

Whatever you end up doing, make sure the battery cannot move. Don't just give it a light push, try hard to move it because forces acting on the battery can be great when driving. If the battery is somehow able to move, and the + contact touches the hold down or any metal part of the car, you can start an electrical fire from the arcing.
