So I just got my switchblade key for my car and I posted a video of it on YouTube. Overall I am pleased with it and am starting to get used to it and like it, but that may change since I have only had it for one day.
another bad factor i'd imagine is because the key is so loose, if you add alot of keys to your keyring... and it becomes too heavy. it's only going to get worse for the connection between the key and the box.
Nice review. Im not a big fan of the whole blade action. A plus tho, about your panic button is that it wont get easily pressed if you sit on your keys or something. You shouldv'e shown how it works. haha it being 2 in the morn and all. :P
Do you have HID lights? Or do you use certain light bulbs? SOrry for the random question. Ha
MrSo0Ho0 has it too. Like you, he felt that the quality wasnt top notch. His panic button opens the trunk and trunk sets off panic. We had to take the key apart and give the key itself to get it cut. The vice was not able to hold the whole thing and have it cut.
I think if you take it apart, adjust the spring, it will be a tighter fit and the key might be more flush. But nice review.
very nice write up! much better than mine, even though mine was an initial video. as for the build quality, yes, its pretty crappy. i took mine apart when i needed to program it. I found the OEM circuit board just sitting inside the case, that corresponds to rubber/plastic bumps attached to the back of the buttons. Quite cheap if you ask me. I ended up having to rearrange things inside to get the key presses working the way i want them. I still cant use my panic because it presses up against the opposite side of the circuit board and activates the trunk release. If you compare it to your OEM key fob, you can see that the placement of the panic button is a bit off, causing my problem stated above. as for turning it in the ignition, i like grasping it in my hand with my thumb resting top center. I find this makes turning the key the most stable. I do have to turn my wrist a little bit more than the OEM one but its not too much of a hassle.

Haha...I am not so sure if the neighbors would be too pleased with me blaring the panic at 2am. As for the lights, I noticed that too. I don't use HID or any other bulb, those are completely stock...my camera gives them that "blue" look.
