Gen6 BEFORE & AFTER: Someone tried to de-badge my trunk with a knife

So two days ago, I was out in Long Beach and stopped by my friends apartment by 11th and Termino to pick up some paperwork. I was gone no longer than 30 minutes and when I came outside, more than half of my toyota emblem was gone and my LE emblem was gone, along with added scratches.

Needless to say, I was very angry and looked around, but no one was in sight. I had another friend with me who I was showing around LB to become a potential roommate so I decided to keep my cool. I dropped him off and drove home. Thank god they didn't break my windows to steal my GPS and other goodies.

My mom didn't want to file an insurance claim so instead, I went down to Hi-Quality Auto Body down Fremont (Alhambra,CA) the next day. Elliot, the owner is very good friends with my family. He quoted me a price and decided to only charge me for parts with labor free. One of the mechanics took off my emblems and the trunk piece which was deeply scratched and went to work. They ordered the parts and I came back the next afternoon and waited at their lounge inside which has a TV, magazines, and mini fridge with complimentary drinks for customers, while they fixed my car.

Didn't take more than 30 minutes for everything to be completed. Paperwork and payment were completed quickly and professionally. The people who worked their are very friendly and won't try to rip you off. They also washed my car for free afterwards. The shops going to be filmed in a couple of weeks and starting their TV show. Pretty legit, haha

The scratches near by the 'LE' emblem are too deep and I didn't want to repaint the whole trunk. I'll just be careful where I park my car next time. Guess how much the total was, haha. Anyways, great shop, definitely will stop by if I have anything I need to fix/install, etc.

When I tried to take my trunk toyota emblem, it was a bitch to get off..even with fishing wire. Why would someone even think of taking them? Pretty stupid.

Nice re-work to your trunk, the first thing I would have done is found the mother fucker who did that to my car and beat the shit out of them.

thats some f*ed up stuff man. Feel sorry for ya, i dont understand what kind of retard would want to steal those badges, i get that you can sell em, but its not worth it. lol

Anyways, since i work in a detailing shot, we have heat guns. Applied heat and dental floss will make the badges come off easily. Then all you have to do is use pain thiner (doesn't remove car paint) to get the rest of the glue. Very simple

I waited until it was *105 out and peeled them off by hand. WD-40 works too.

I don't think they're trying to sell them. My guess is that it's some kids who just want it to show off.

Yeah, Elliot told me it was probably some random kids who wanted to put it on their backpacks or something. I didn't think anyone would ever want to take the emblems, of all things, lol. Just happy that it was fixed and the outcome was good.

dammn that sucks... i would have been pissed off... good rework though.... I dont see no reason in taking the emblems other than someone trying to replace their own emblems for their own car
