'07 LE 2.7 - Low Idle

Our '07 LE 2.7L 5A now has about 51K miles on it and ever since the beginning of the summer, I've noticed that the idle falls to almost 500 RPM's when stopped at a light with the A/C on - which makes the engine vibrate pretty badly. The steering wheel and the whole dash shakes... and it's very annoying. Shifting into neutral to relieve the load helps some, but it still doesn't idle as high as it should. It never did this before - so I know it's not normal. I plan to bring it to the service department's attention the next time we take it in for an oil change/service, but does anyone have any suggestions of anything I can check or do to correct it in the meantime?

Thanks

Smart-azz. Obviously, I meant 2.4L. I just got it confused with my '09 Tacoma 2.7L.

Anybody got any helpful replys?

Try blowing some cleaner on the MAF sensor. That might perk it up.

+1 on the throttle body.get some induction cleaner and try that out too. If you don't know how to do the induction cleaner, we can give you a hand but there should be instructions

+1 on cleaning throttle body

I was changing my air filter once and i think the way i lifted the air box i got some dirt up on the maf and in the mainfold of the intake, at the time I didn't really know about cars so I took the car to the dealer and they did their "special cleaning" for almost 300 bucks. Now i know i can clean it myself, so I say you first try fixing it yourself before you take it to the dealer, they'll just try to rip you off.
