5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have searched the forums and cannot find the answer and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I see many posts for disabling the DRL's but I cannot find anything about making them work if they go out.
I have a 2002 Camry LE with 188K on it. Yesterday, the DRLs did not come on when I went to leave for work. They had been on the night before. I swapped the relays in the engine compartment fuse box (5 amp fuse, 3 relays) but found none of them to be bad.
Not sure where else to look. Could the switch itself be bad? If you have any ideas please let me know.
not to state the obvious, but did you check the bulbs? do your high beams work? if they don't, its time to replace the bulbs... and that should fix your drl issue. if its not the bulbs, then yes i would look at the switch if the fuses are fine. also check for any loose connections or bad grounds.

Yes, all bulbs and other headlight operation is normal. Traced everything I could trace and no sign of bad ground, burnt or broken wires, etc. Relays all have been checked and the fuses replaced even though they were still good. No go. Very strange that it worked the night before, it sat all night, then they did not work the next morning. I even checked the parking brake lamp wiring to ensure it wasn't an issue there. Thanks for the replies.

check your parking brake...if it's on your DRL's won't come on....
x2 check the parking brake, pull it and release it a few times to see if it could be a sensor issue. check the wiring from the pass. headlight also, i believe the DRL's are tied into that circuit somehow.
