Just got 2010 camry le, few questions

hey guys, just picked up a pearl white 2010 camry LE. love it so far, but two questions:

1- The transmission does not seem as smooth as i would think when downshifting.. seems to kinda hang on a gear a little too long, feeling a little "jumpy"? not too worried, the transmission is warrantied for 5 yrs

2- I've already noticed scratches on the chrome area of the gear shift! right around where it say's P, D, etc.. wtf? is it really that sensitive? anyway of fixing this? how much does it cost to change those pieces? the majority of the scratch is on the small strip that has those different colored letters. i'll try to post pics later tonight.

other than that love the car. i just want to add the bluetooth option and possibly leather. any input on those would also be great thanks guys

OHH EMM GEE!!!

Did you notice it when you take the car home? You better take it back to the dealer, they will replace it for you for FREE.

Cause I had some scratches on my old LE's instrument cluster (or whatever the glass is called), and they replaced it for FREE.

^ agree with my cousin. take it to the dealer and they'll fix it. and no its not that easy to scratch. don't have a single scratch on mine.

trany there is nothing wrong with. many threads about this. no worries it'll become more to your liking after you drive it for a while as it's "learning" how you drive.

1 thing i'm lost in though. i have a super white 09 xle. i didn't know there is a pearl white le??? i think they only had a pearl white for the anniversary edition hybrid.

thanks for the advise guys. i did not notice it when i picked up the car, but by the time we finalized the deal it was 9:15 pm, so it was dark. i'm hoping they dont give me any problems, i've had the car less than a week (since wednesday!)

also, something else that i wanna find out if it's normal; according to the dealership, the car doesnt come with floormats! they gave me some crappy generic floormats as a "courtesy". after i complained the manager agreed to give me the factory floormats at cost for $65. is this normal? a $21K doesnt come with floormats? lol thanks guys

should have the floormats. all 3 of my camrys did and everyone i know with a camry(from CE to XLE). also had them. if they give you trouble then speak with managers and file a complaint worst case. don't let them off easy.

No. Floormats are not standard. They are an extra cost option. Most places a mandatory option.

^ i agree njerald but i never said they were standard. i said they should be there. from what i know(my dad knows quite a lot of people at dealerships) most dealerships have the floormats in every single car on their lot. yes you can get a car without it but they really don't do that. most likely this is a case of someone wanting a spare set or another car didn't have them for one reason or another and they took it out of his car and are making up excuses. if the sticker doesn't have them on there somewhere then you can't do anything but pay. BUT if it does then bring it with you.

hey, so i'm gonna go to the dealer today after work and see what they can do; i'll update what happens. in regards to the bluetooth system; i really wanted it, but couldn't afford to upgrade to the XLE (~$7K more). they said i can add it now (i think they said around $450, gonna ask them today). what do you guys think about that? would i still get a steering wheel button to activate the calls? any problems/issues with you guys using it with nokia smartphones (N97 or E71 in particular). thanks for any input

$450 for Bluetooth isn't worth it IMO, just get some aftermarket Bluetooth for less than $100.

Unless your car came with it from the factory.

hey guys, so went to the dealership; got the salesman who sold me the car and he looks at the scratches and goes over it with his nail, and another chuck of that silver crap comes off! so i go to the service area and the service guy tells me it's not covered under warranty, etc. after some sweet talk he says the only way to replace it is to write it up as "not working" and then it can be done so they ordered the parts an they're gonna have it Wednesday. i'm happy but very upset about the quality of the finish.. now i have to be anal about anything getting on that area.. no cell phone, charger, glasses, etc...

on another note.. i spoke to that same service guy (he's a keeper ) and i told him how i wanted the bluetooth and leather in the car. We got to talking and they're prices are: $420 for bluetooth and $1300 for leather. after some more sweet talking he agreed to do both for $1500.. i dunno seems like a good deal.. gonna consider it and if i'm gonna do it i'll probably do it in september/october. anyways, i'll post some pics of the car after i've tinted it tomorrow. thanks for all the help guys
