5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Looking at the Gen 6 and 6.5 Camry, it seem that the V6 is rare. The gas millage is not much different, so why do not more buy the V6?
In the Accord it seems the V6 is much more popular.
Cost is a major issue, I bought my four banger LE because it was cheap as crap, If I'd wanted to spend another couple of thousand dollars I probably wouldn't have been looking at Toyota to begin with.

I cant speak for others but I say mainly because of costs and some people might not need the extra horsepower as its not needed for them.
I was going to get the i4 because it was cheaper than the v6 but got the v6 after test driving it. The car was smoother, much better pick up and the amount of gas I'll be burning through just to get to the speed I need in the i4, I could of done it with the v6 with half the amount of gas.
This is what I ask many times. I really don't understand people who can afford a V6 Camry but instead opt for the 4-banger. It's painfully slow and the fuel economy gain is completely minuscule.

lol i love my I4... it does the trick and its a great car for me right now as a college student... but like Netforcer said the v6 will get you to point b much faster lol but maybe not as fast as Paul's I4-T

Depends on if there's speed bumps... then I'd definitely get there faster
