We'll looks like us xle and smart key people will have some problems during the led conversion. i installed my led flasher module and front led bulbs today. well now when i get close to the car, the lights don't come on and when i touch the handle the doors wont open. i have to use remote. trunk opens, you can't lock keys in car, and starting the car is all normal. i put in original flasher module and i hyperflash but the lights come on when i get close and i can open the car normally. anyone have any ideas? i don't think it's because i have front led turn signals and rear original turn bulbs. ugg i hate not being able to touch the handle to open the door.
As stated in the LED thread, you lose parking flash confirmation. This is also stated at v-leds and superbrightleds. I also mentioned this as well in the thread.
i know tim. i expected to loose flash confirmation. i didn't expect to loose my dome light coming on when i get close to car(entry mode) and my door handle opening the doors. it works with oem denso module. i took apart my dash again like 20 minutes ago and plugged in denso unit and everything worked. i went back to led unit and no dome going on or opening door with handle.
hmm i might have to just go to resistors. i'll wait to see if anyone has any suggestions. i still don't get what dome light turning on when getting close and opening door by touching handle have anything to do with a led flasher module. it has to be something else.
Thats what I said about my friends also. How does flasher module affect doors. Same with mine...how does it affect my hazards? But I have no problems what so ever with anything else.
lol. you should see my front turns though. i have same bulbs as tim so they are white when not flashing. looks awesome on a white cam specially since i have ultra white fogs and will have hids in there soon too.
worst case i'll meet up with you one weekend before september and we'll just swap in resistors and i'll give mike(with red cam). the flasher module.
I dont know how to tap the resistors. Thats why I went for the flasher module route. Chuncomunco (the one that brought the steak at the meet) said he used resistors for the front and back and when turn signals are on, they dont blink the same time. front would blink but back is off. Back would blink and front is off. He's looking for flasher module as well.

No. Because the parking light LED isnt even bright enough to be considered a headlight or fog light. its more of a marker. And by law, turn signals must be either red or amber. Thats why i stayed amber for the rear and amber for the front.
im running the resistors in the back with no problems never got around to doing the front because its 3 wires i had to tap into so i stuck with regular bulbs up front and leds in the back
