Gen6 07 Camry 2.4l / K&n Intake

Hey guys..I got a question about the K&N Intake..here's the page with more info:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...rod=69-8610TTK

I was wondering is there a DIY or are there instructions on how to install this thing?

Also..does it void toyota's warranty?

and lastly..I live in New York.. yeah cold weather in winter and for the "System Type" of this intake it says "System Type: Cold-air intake system" is that bad? because they don't have any other types.. sorry first time working with intakes, lol..

Thanks.

it comes in instructions, no worry about warranty n the K&N is not a CAI its a short ram intake. get the Fujita better i like http://www.fujitaonline.com/Fujita_C..._p/ca-3318.htm

i hear that cold air is more for low rpm n short ram in more for high rpm.

Thanks for the reply bro.., oh ok..but the Fujita is CAI right? isn't that bad for winter..or is it how you said it, cold for low rpm and short ram for high rpm? I heard that somewhere..also it's much cheaper then K&N, Pepboys said 333.99 today that's without tax..lol

the Fujita, what's the HP gain?

thanks.

I see a lot of people say the K&N is SRI and the Fujita is CAI. K&N says that its a CAI. All I see is a pipe with a filter at the end for both of them. Only difference is K&N has a heat guard.

The Fujita have longer in pipe n go all the way out the the englne to get better air rather than hot air from the engine.its said k"n is CAI but its not. CAI is better in getting cold air.

Or you can just costume make one yourself like i did.
The only diff b/w all the ones mantioned above, like said above, is that knn has the heatshield.

I find it quite boring buying things and just installing them. I like the thrill in making my own work and etc. CAI are very simple. They are just straight piping that allows air to flow to your engine easier. They are all made tha same size as your stock Intake, width of 2.5 in. And all it does is that it takes out all the turns and bends that are made on the stock intake which also help reduce some noise. The CAI will give your engine a nicer, sorta deeper hum to it, and it makes it look better.

If you go a couple of pages back you can find the DIY thread i wrote and you can make your own CAI for about 150$. Its easy to make and very fun. and it works fine, improves mpg and it give the car a lil extra kick. But like everybody knows, CAIs wont really give you any power, just the sounds it makes will make you feel like you're going faster. haha. gl
