Gen5 anyone remove their dead pedal before?

just wondering if anyone has removed their dead pedal before, whether it be temporary or permanent. The reason i am asking is because as a big guy at 6'3", a couple more inches in leg room will make a world of a difference. I just wanna know if its ugly behind there or if i need to mount some sort of beauty plate to cover up stuff.

Is yours black plastic one that's screwed on or is it part of the carpet? IIRC on my 2000, there was a threaded bolt behind it

I wonder if it would be possible to manually adjust the power seat to move back further. I guess it would be just easier to remove the dead pedal. I too have leg room problem...and I am not as tall as 6'3".

Lou,

is there anything underneath that I would need to cover up if I want to leave it off?

There will be two small metal brackets for the fasteners.
