Gen6 Behind the grill lighting..need help!

I've seen some JDM Cars such as G35s and TSX's and some have a strip of LEDs behind on their grill. But positioning is not important as I wish to project them from behind my grill, so my grill lights up rather than seeing a strip of LEDs from the outside. Does anyone know which one's I should get and how I would wire them so it can turn on with my Parking Lights & Lo Beams, etc?

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/JDM-White-B..._ddl_sku68.htm

something like that except that it's not in front of the grill, rather than behind it..kind of.

If there's a way to wire it, i will found out how! but i need your help please.

That would be interesting if you get it done, be sure to post pics.

I would recommend a longer LED strip or maybe a flexible one. Can get those cheaper than $20.99 and it will have a uniform strip of light instead of two separate ones.

What you need is a cold cathode.

http://www.oznium.com/cathode-kit

Hook it up to directly to the parking lights

Only bad thing about them is that they are not waterproof. So if you're going to use them for that purpose, you'll have to cover up the ends with silicone or something. CTMike had 4" oznium cathodes there. One of them stopped working because it went through a power wash or car wash or something.

Get oznium's LED lights that are waterproof. I'm interested in knowing how to wire as well. I remember CTMike telling me but cant remember. Still trying to figure out how to wire LED light strip on my hood. So when I open hood, light turns on and illuminates my engine bay

thing about ccfl, the distribute light 360 deg evenly. and you want that to light up the grille. they should sell waterproof automotive kits.

as for lighting up the engine bay, you'll need a slide type switch. but it's easier to just set up aswtich you can manually turn on-off

check out hid planet or TRFS. hidplanet always has someone selling a waterproof LED strip in the for sale section. TRFS has some always available but i forget if they are waterproof or not.

I was going to connect it to my hood pin from my Viper alarm. However, I'm not too familiar with the wiring schematics.

So when I close my hood, the hood pin is down and the lights are off. If hood is up, the hood pin is up and the lights are on.

tada! im here... haha yeah man the cold cathodes are the way to go a i feel because of the 360 light projection. i had to place them in a spot where they could be visible though because otherwise it just didnt light up like i wanted it to... here is a picture of my car at night to give you a little feel for it. sorry for the crap quality ifs from my cell

now one of mine did get wet and therefore ruined because i didnt take the proper precautions in waterproofing them so when i finally get around to ordering new ones i will be waterprofing them with clear silicone before i put them in. also ordering 12 inch ones i think haha

CTMike... hahhaa, I love your batman emblem. If I do it I would do it without seeing the light bulb. Just the light from behind showing the grill.

LOL that guy in the video is SUCH a dork. Having flashing lights in the headlights is illegal for impersonating an emergency vehicle anyway...

the emblem is the bomb haha... i tried to find a spot where i could put the bulbs without having to see them but it was hard... prolly something im going to look into more with the 12" ones cause they are bigger and will be more noticeable if they are just in the grill

Hey! CTMike nice mod I didn't know you and I shared the same idea :P.
Bro do you think you can show me how to wire it to a switch? I heard somewhere it's legal but I guess now my hunch has been confirmed and it is in fact illegal, so which is why I would need a switch :P
