Weird noise during reverse only!!

Hello, so I am having a weird problem with my Camry LE i4. Everytime I do a hard reverse mainly in the counter-clockwise direction(to the left), I hear a weird crunching noise coming from the tires..or atleast in the tire area. At my dealers' for a regular maintenance, I asked them if they had found anything in the tire area that may be causing the noise, but the tech said everything was fine!! I had gotten my tires from Belletire and I asked them to check it out, but they couldn't recreate the noise. So any ideas or clues as to what may be the problem? Any advice or comments are appreciated. Thank you!

Usually if there is noise when you back up in one direction and there is no noise in the another dirction, this is an indication of a bad cv joint. Too early for 2007. How many miles do you have on the car?

Does it have a metallic sound to it like someone is crunching a very large coil?

I have a similar problem in my old Camry 2001 I4 which I gave to my brother. My sound was more like the sound of a spring being compressed when you put it in reverse, and I believe it might be one of the rear shocks that is making the noise. I'm no expert but i figured I'd throw it out there.

Thnaks to both for your replies. I have about 52K miles on it. It does sound somewhat like crunching springs It'll be 3yrs in Nov that I've had the car. Is that normal for the shocks and the cv joint (have to google what that is).

I had this sound in my 2001 Impala. Midas said either a CV joint or the struts were going bad. I had over 60K on it.

i have the same noise in my 09 camry, when i go to reverse real fast to parellel park it seems to be a loud noise coming from the right tire area. if you reverse slowly you do not hear the noise. I was wondering the same thing.

I had a Clunking noise coming from my 09 Camry i4 near the Right Front tire while turning the wheel all the way in either direction... It could be herd clear while reversing because the car is moving so slow. But mite i add my Camry has been dropped 2" with the Tein Stech springs... The car only had 15k miles on it and i took to the dealer i thought it was a bad CV joint but infact it was a Loose Axel.... Luckly they had the part in stock and replaced my front axel being it is still under waranty... Now at 20k miles i started to hear another clunking noise while turning at slow speeds, when i took it to the dealer two days ago, the tech told me that since i had lowered the car so much, that the suspension needed to lubricated more often. Now I feel that the clunking noise isnt as harsh and apparently going away.
