sorry dude but this has been mentioned before. it's good but it's missing ballasts and a harness. also idk how good the headlights were sealed. plus those are hybrid headlights so they have the blue tint.
no its just on the shroud(looks). search for difference between LE/XLE ; SE : and hybrid headlights to know what i mean. only shroud has a light blue tint on it. glass, projectors, etc is the same.

Exactly, you don't know how well the job was done, and it's a dangerous mod if you get it wrong.
yea atleast i know the flaws in my retro and i know they will last. there could be a reason why the seller is selling those besides the reasons he listed... also these are sold anyway.
well when i first posted it they where still for sale. and i guess you guys have some good points there, i just posted it just incase anyone was interested.
How come when people retrofit with tsx's, why are they using Philips hid kit when you could just use all TSX OEM parts? wouldn't the OEM be better? The Phipils kit looks just blue and no color chage like the OEM's?
Philip bulbs comes standard in many cars with factory HIDs. He seems to be using Denso ballasts, which are OEM for Toyota/Lexus factory HIDs. The reason they look even more blue is because he had the projectors color modded, also known as the washer mod, where you sacrifice a sharper cutoff line for more color output at the cutoff line.

but does it still have the natural HID look like the tsx, meaning it will reflect blue purple ect... when you go over bumps and stuff? Now when you say projector modded? you mean the lens or the bulb? I'm still new at this and learning. 1 other question. When you do a color mod, lets say blue like this one, will you still get the halogen look like the stock one's when your behind the wheels? because my brother's tl looks like that but when your in front of the car it looks blue purple white ect...

it doesn't matter what kind of bulb you use, as long as its D2S... you will still get a natural HID look that flickers over bumps. Its not the bulbs that gives you this flicker effect, its the optics of the projectors. halogen projectors can give you this effect too, but to a lesser extent. OEM bulbs will last longer and have a more true oem color and usable output.
When the projector is modded for color... the shield is either spaced closer or farther away from the bulbs. its done mostly for aesthetic reasons. i don't know what you mean by halogen look, but the only thing that the color mod does (for the most part) is increase the amount of blue color at the cutoff. everything else below the cutoff remains virtually the same.

one thing i have to ask. my projectors are modded a bit but to actually increase sharpness on my custom shield. the cutoff was blurry with no spacers. so you don't always loose sharpness by color modding. i have plenty of color as i have a prism tail and the cutoff is as sharp as a razor at all distances.
also i believe the philips bulbs were original on the tsx. just the 85122. rx330s uses 85122/85122+ depending on years and i believe all new lexus that are d2s use the 85122+
Like they said, it's the cutoff line that gives you the color, whereas everything below is actual usable light. Just to clarify, 81522 is basically 4300K while 81522+ is around 5000K. 81522 will basically become 81522+ after about 100 hours of usage. And yes, Philips are found on the TSX, as well as the other Acuras with factory HIDs.
few things to get straight here. yes it's the color above the cutoff that causes the flicker. a original tsx projector specially if its from the newer tsxs will not have a sharp or very colorful cutoff. thats why we swap the lenses to the clear tsx lenses or the tsx-r. then the spacing will give you some more color. if done right you will not really sacrifice the sharpness. it will be a bit less sharp to the person who is anal and notices everything but to the rest of us it will be the same.
now the 85122+ and 85122 bulbs are SAME color brand new from the box. the + has a few lumens more because of design. the 85122 has a bit less but nothing we will notice AND it color shifts so it gets closer to 5k and losses lumens over it's lifetime. they are both 4300K in the beginning.
