5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Some 2007-2010 Camrys may exibit a vibration or pulsation condition when braking. New front brake pads are available to address customer concerns. Follow repair procedures....
1. Machine rotors on car. If below minimum thickness replace rotors.
2. Replace front pads with improved kit.
3. Remove rear pads and check pad material code on lower left corner. If not D6247-FF, replace pads.
LOL such fools (Toyota) in finally publishing this. I've had this problem with my first set of brakes and now I have the same problem developing with my second set of brakes.
From what I have noticed, once you do a new brake job, you have about 30000-35000km before the trouble starts.
My mechanic had alleviated the problem precisely by re-machining my front rotors. This helped for about 5000-10000km but basically once you machine them a second time, if you get problems again, you have to replace the rotors and pads the third time around.

Wouldn't this just fall under normal maintenance though? Like resurfacing rotors at first brake pad change, which is usually recommended for most cars anyways.

Excellent! Thanks for the information. Just curious, will this TSB also apply if you are past the standard 36k miles Toyota Comprehensive Warranty, but have the Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty? Either way, I'm at 35k, so it's perfect timing.
