5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I noticed that the 2010 Camry Le factory radio has 2 antennas plugged into it. They run back and are the upper portion of what looks like the rear defroster. My question is, i haven't found any adapter yet for connecting these 2 antennas into an aftermarket head unit (specifically the Pioneer deh-p6100bt).
Has anyone come across this issue and can share how they dealt with it? As far I as can find there's only 1 spot to plug in an antenna for aftermarkets.

One is the amplified signal from the antenna, the other is for the amplifier power.
Correction!
Both of these connections are antenna signal, a dual antenna for auto diversity, eliminates fading.

Reason: Correcting error
Ooh so the defroster style antenna isn't passive, it needs a little power in order to work? ..I guess that would explain what the gray box is that's behind the side panel.
Nice, so I might not need yet another part for this radio install.
Thanks.
I'll have to look at the pin outs now. Cause the aftermarket doesn't putout power for an antenna does it? Sorry I haven't researched this part yet.
There are 2 black, and one orange. the orange not connecting to the head unit, rather it runs through to the gray box in the back (shown in a different pic).
But I'm still at a loss for what to do with the antenna. Even if 1 of the 2 is for power, there's not a slot for it to go into... unless I'm supposed to solder on another wire to the round pin and connect that to the aftermarket head unit's wiring harness.. maybe?

This is where I find what I need, then I verify by double checking the the actual points in the harness (meter, scope & so forth). I am looking into the problem you are having with the antenna amplifier power source. I am trying to locate a converter for you.

The correct connections for the power to the antenna amplifier for a premium receiver is:
F26 is a 20 pin connector.
F26 pin 13 is +10v to 14v (ORANGE)
F26 pin 20 is GND. (BROWN)
For a standard receiver:
F6 is a 10 pin connector.
F6 pin 8 orange + 10v to +14v Amplifier power.
F6 pin 7 brown GND

Reason: Addition of wire colors Adding Std. Rcvr. conn.

Corrections made to last post (#8) made this post into another error. Please ignore.

Reason: Errors
Well that website camrystuff.com certainly has almost every drawing needed to make the car from scratch! LOL, but i couldn't find the part about the 2 wires shown below at the head unit and at their termination at the back. The pin outs are important, but maybe you can see why i'm confused as to what to do with the below images.. mind you they fit into the factory, but that doesn't help with the new pioneer head unit.
Antenna and something else
Plugged into Factory unit. This portion seemed to be missing from the diagrams i found so far
Their final resting place, the orange seems to be the power from the pinout. But what is returning?
Everything except the crucial wire harness is being delivered friday, but i only want to take the car apart 1 final time you know?

The return is through the car body, and antenna coax shield.

So what your saying is.. Toyota has actually made it a lot easier to install a different head unit by giving you 2 sizes of connectors to choose from? This is crazyness!

No
Original concept was:
