So this is my first tutorial. If I've put it in the wrong place or anything let me know. I just received my new Tail lights and thought it would be fun to do this tute.
Its a very easy job so here goes.
Open your boot and stick your head in here!!

Then undo these cargo hooks on both sides

Now pull back the plastic boot lining gently along the top pushing it down until all the clips release then remove it from the boot space. Its also a good opportunity to clean out the boot

Now really carefully pull back the boot liner. This stuff will deform and tear really easily.

Now stick your head in there and undo the clip that joins the loom to the lamp, Looks a bit like this.

Then undo the three nuts holing in the lamp, don't mix them up with the ones holding the bumper on

Now pop the lamp out

Next step is to remove the bulb loom from the lamp. Just twist the bulb housing in an anticlockwise direction. Try not to touch the actual bulb, this will dramatically reduce bulb life.

Watch out for the loom clip on the lamp under the rubber foam seal

Good time to clean all the dirt and crap that collected behind the old lamps. I jammed the towel in there to stop water going in behind the boot trim.

Now is a good time to check the length of the new set up. I had to remove the clip from here because the new setup was too short.

Its also a good time to make sure everything works ok. I tested the lights by temporarily connecting the lamp in the boot. At this point I discovered the main brake globe didn't fit the new lamp and a little customizing was necessary. The tiniest bit of glue fixed it. I don't normally use glue but unfortunately in this instance it was required.

Righto! time to fit it. Gently slide the new lamp, loom and globes in place, ensuring you will be able to connect it all up without any problems.

Place gentle pressure on the lamp and maneuver it into place ensuring it lines up perfectly with the body line, then replace the nuts by hand. Tighten the nuts, still by hand until the lamp lines up perfectly ensuring you tighten the outer nut last. This makes the alignment much easier. You may now choose to tighten the nuts further but be very careful not to over tighten them, you WILL break the lamp. If you are worried about them coming undone the pressure you were putting against the lamp during alignment should hold it in. If your still worried a little lock tight is your friend. Should be looking good now.

A good time to compare your work with the original.

Rinse and repeat for the other side

Lookin' Good!
