Gen5 Hard time finding Manual Tranny

Hey fellas its been a while but I am back. I am really having a hard time finding a 5 speed manual transmission for my 2002 Camry. Will a scion TC manual tranny work with my Camry? We share the same engine so I think it will but not sure. Any advice?

Gen5 Televised ATL Car Show

Here are some pics of some toyotas at the last ATL Motorsports Nationals which was televised on 2 channels. Me and my club have really made a name for ourselves here in the south. We have been the first club to sweep at this auto show with 11 of 11 trophies. I will show other cars as well. Enjoy.

I believe it will bolt up without a doubt, but my concern would be if gearing is the same as the camry.

It was said in the other thread about the Tc motor in the Camry that the trany is different. Don't know if it's a fact and don't know what the differences are.

yea i also think they are different. why don't you try going down to leesville in NJ. they always have a few camrys laying around and they might have a tranny for you. you can call em up and see if they have it.

off topic a bit but were any of those cars at rockland's summer slam. i think i recognize that 1st celica but don't remember if from there or other shows.

The TC has shorter final drive and 5th gear ratios. Not sure what else is different.

Yes Dustin did go to that show. His Celica GTS is awesome. He took home 1st place in the mild class. He is also interested in joining my club. We are considering him. Only thing is that he lives hours from us. But he is a really cool dude.

Thanks but I dont want another car just a manual transmission that will work with my engine.
Thanks everyone for the great advice. I wasn't aware that the TC had a shortier gear ratio than the Camry. I figured since they have the same engine and drivetrain that nothing would be different. Any advice on where I could look to get a tranny with everything it needs to mount right up. I.E. Clutch Pedal, Gear Shifter etc...

Is there a 5 speed manual for the 2AZ-FE? I know there is for the V6 SE Camry. Can anyone help me on this?

i would check 2002 Solara cars (maybe junk yards?). they were based on Camry, might have identical transmissions. Solaras were always (correct me if wrong) in two transmission versions for both 4 and 6 cylinder engines. hope it helps!

grats on all the price your club won! nice pictures, those cars are beautiful!

you can actuall go to toyodiy.com and put VIN or exact model of same year/type camry as solara and compare drive train parts.
