Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Alright guys, my girlfriends uncle runs miller airfield in NJ. He offered to allow me to take my car there on Friday and drive it on the one mile runway for as long and fast as i wanted. I figured this would be a great time to see what this things got. My question is, will the car be able to hit top speed and stop within one mile? I'm a little worried about the breaks overheating/warping after a stop from such high speeds. I know the tires are good for 149, and that the suspension and drivetrane can handle it. oh and BTW, this thread is NOT about street racing and this will be done on a close coarse so please don't lock it.

sorry dude but you really want to do this to a brand new car? brakes should be ok if you don't slam on them. just give them time to cool down and don't get on them super hard. haha tell me what day and i'll come down and do it with you lol.

haha i wish. my car is in no condition to go out. was joking around. before the accident, i managed to be about 1 foot or so behind my friend with his SE. the trd exhaust helped him a bit to start faster but then we kept same distance. i can't wait to fix my car and get my trd exhaust in. don't even as about my dads car. that thing is pretty far behind. almost car length. rims really do help as you get more grip and can start faster. my dad's car has too much spin so it starts completely different from mine.

yea check in the show and share section. i think you werent around when i posted it. i haven't drove my car since last saturday. i won't post the details here as they are in the thread. i been driving my dads car since then. once my car is done we can meet up to do this as long as the runway is clear. don't want anything hitting my brand new paint job.

read the other thread. not possible. its already higher than was after hit. a piece of my friends hid kit is holding it up like that. i got a time frame when adjuster should come out and by when my car should be fixed but won't say so i won't jinx it. by end of october my car will be like nothing ever happened(hopefully). will be looking better than before.
