Anyone use Monroe Ceramic brake pads?

Been checking prices for rear pads for my wife's 2007 Camry.

Rockauto has the Monroe ceramics for $33

And Monroe has a $20 mail-in rebate for any set of their ceramic pads.

Can't beat 13 bucks for a set of pads.

That deal was too good to pass up, I bought some, but I have not installed them yet. I don't race or street race my camry, it is a commuter vehicle, so I imagine these pads will be fine.

I am going to install them in a week or two (I hope, if I can find time) along with some new Raybestos AT Rotors. I will post back after I get them broken in, but it might not be fast enough to help you

Some random reviews I found in forums and on Amazon are positive if you are replacing an OEM pad (like I am)

Interesting, I ordered the same rotors today (amazon, free shipping) as well as the ceramic Monroes.

Probably install them late next week.

I have had very bad expeience with Rockauto. Their database is inacurate.

Good luck though, I hope your parts will fit...

Me too and I double checked my part numbers with Rabestos and Monroe myself, everything should be good and Amazon is easy to return stuff if it isn't.

Never had trouble with RockAuto. Always double check your numbers.

USA Cheap brakes and tires aren't always cheap

Wanted to offer a different perspective on can't-beat-the-price brake parts and tires. I used to buy cheap tires, then almost plowed into someone because I had bad traction. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/im...s/facepalm.gif That would have cost me. Now I always buy 'A' traction rating or better.
A few years ago I came down a steep hill with a full load of firewood in my pickup and trailer, too fast because I was worrying about the tailgater behind me. Oops. My brakes faded and I couldn't stop. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/im...ilies/eek3.gif Happily, there was nobody in the way and I was able to turn onto a flat road. So today I'm looking at standard vs. drilled rotors (not yet sure which is the right way to go for street use) and ceramic brake pads, because that costs a lot less than a new truck and maybe a hospital stay or worse.
Good brakes and tires ARE the inexpensive way to go.
