Tire Pressure Warning Light On, Help

Okay, I just went to Discount Tire today and bought new tires for my 07 XLE camry. Factory size is 215/60/16 and I bumped up to a 225/60/16. I asked them if they reset the sensors and they said yes. I just ran out to pick up something and the light came on. Do I need different sensors or do they just need to program these for the different size. I just went up one size. Any ideas ? Thanks

Have you checked the pressure? Maybe they are genuinly below the spec causing a legitimate light. If not, you can reset the light yourself. The switch is in the upper left of glove box recess...pic in the manual.
Tire size shouldnt play a role. Another thing, if all else fails....maybe they damaged a sensor installing the tire?

Your tire pressure warning light will only go off if one of the tires has a 25% variance compared to the other, the tire size should not make a big difference. So the first thing I would do is see if you actually have a low tire, which might be the case. Could have had a faulty valve stem or bad bead.

I am thinking they just work off of pressure and not size of tires am I right? I will just go back tomarrow and have them rescan them.

They measure the pressure because you can transfer them as some people have done with their aftermarket wheels.

Heading to work today and what do I see. Drivers side rear flat and drivers front half flat. Heading back to Discount to have fixed today. Not a happy camper right now. Good thing I have a air compresser, lol
