I've been debating on tinting mine. 50% is fine. Any darker and it will be noticeable.

What about the stripe aka banner on the top of the windshield , tinted to the mark AS1 line with 5 % ,, that may help a ton with the sun glare during the day

Here in Louisiana is 35%, I think. I like my tint, it gives more privacy .

50% is not as noticeable as 30%. However, having a dark interior and dark tints on door windows make the front windshield look even darker.

So if you have 20% or less on your windows and 50% or less, it will look really dark. But if you have light interior, it wont be.

Having entire front windshield is illegal in any state. You can only have the top 6" tinted. Prescription windshield tinting is possible when your doctor certifies that a medical exemption is desired.

Lucky for states without tint laws. Chicago's tint laws are $250 for first offense now, had to remove my tints this afternoon.

That sucks. All states have tint laws. There is no state that doesnt.

http://www.tintlaws.com/

I got pulled over after leaving a friends house at like 1am. Cops made a u-turn and followed me for a mile or so before pulling me over. Asked for my info and took out their meter to measure darkness of tints. Asked me if it was my car too (the blvd I was on is known for racing...so they probably thought I was one based on the looks of the car). They got in the car, pulled up next to me, handed me back my infos and told me to get tints fixed and left. Yea right!
