Gen5 new intake. low idle rpm. yes ive used search

so i installed a new intake on my 2003 xle (disconnected my battery and all that) and after checking to make sure all the lines were sealed and neat i started the car and the rpm kicked up past 1000 like usual but then it started to settle and then dropped down to zero shutting off the engine.

so i tried again but this time giving it some gas and turning on the ac/radio/lights and keeping the rpm up, after a couple minutes of this i took the car out around (for about 15 mins) but the rpm kept dropping really low and would begin to die if i didnt give it some gas. so i came back and trolled the forums for a little and read about cleaning off the MAF sensor so i went out and bout the MAF cleaner and disconnected my battery, cleaned the sensory thoroughly and tried again

turning on ac/radio/lights, giving it some gas brought the rpm down real low but the idle wasnt as rough. the idle settled around 300-500 so i felt safe enough to drive it around for about another 15 mins. this didnt seem to change much as after the idle still settled around 300-500 and then at the end the engine check light came on. any ideas? i wanna try to avoid the hassle of going to auto zone and getting it read. i included some pics of my setup to see if didn't connect something right or something

overall setup

mm ive put about 30mins of driving time on it to see if itd adjust over, but for good measure i went out again about 45 mins ago, disconnected the battery again for about 30 mins and put it back, and then drove around again for about 10mins...same result

ah well worse comes to worst if it doesn't adjust over after a day or so i'll just put the stock intake back in

you have to let it relearn idle... stop disconnecting it and just leave it be.. just do regular local driving with stop signs all all that good stuff.. or even just sit in gear in your driveway. it will relearn

put on your a/c, headlights, high beams, radio, ALL accessories. Put it in drive with the e-break up and just let it idle. It'll start to idle normally again
