Kind of screeching sound. Is there any particular procedure to follow when we insert the wiper blade into the arm? Especially the direction or the side or anything like that?

No. So as long you placed it in correctly and you have the correct size. thats all. The screeching between the wiper and window is probably because there is lack of water on the windshield. Its like taking a piece of rubber and rubbing it against a window.
Is there "fog" like look when you use the wipers? Does it seem like the wipers jump when you use it? Is there water on the windshield (i dont mean sprinkles/sprits of it)?
RainX is fine for the fall and spring but, you don't want to have that stuff on your windshield come winter. When the road salt sprays on your windshield and you have RainX applied, it builds up a terrible film which streaks. That happened to me once and I had to buy a new set of wipers.
Regardless, I recommend using the Valeo Ultimate Wipers instead. They're available at TireRack.com. I just ordered my second set this week (previous set lasted more than a year). They have streaked less than the OEM ones in my case.

Never had that problem. I use both the RainX spray (used when cars are washed) and RainX windshield washer fluid.
There are times I dont even need to use the wipers. Water just rolls right off. I'm still using my original wipers that came with the car. I have an extra set of Valeo's that I bought from Amazon when they were having a sale. I think it was 50% off.
make sure your windshield is clean and free of grime. consider using an old used clay bar to really get that stuff off, even if it looks clean. there is often a film of grime or dirt that you can't see and that can cause the wipers to squeak.

Do you mean a streaking sound? Use the wipers when the windshield is wet. If its drizzling, dont turn it on and wipe it manually
This was very funny to me. It made me think of someone hanging out of their window with a towel wiping the rain off of their windshield while going down the road.

LOL. I meant manually as in using the stalk and pushing it up
