Gen6 How long does it take for 2007 auto tranny problems to surface?

Hi Everyone, First post!

I'm looking at buying a 2007 LE, 6 speed auto, 27k miles on it. I've read about the tranny problems (erratic shifting, flaring, hesitation, etc) but never have been able to tell if the problem occurs from day one, or can appear at any time.

If this car shifts fine now am I "in the clear", or can the problem still occur later on?

Also, is there one post(s) that shows what the solution to the problem is?

Regards,

John

You can never be sure that a transmission will last forever... As far as shift-flares, there is/was a TSB for the correction. Just ask the dealer if the car was serviced for the TSB, and if not, then tell them to before you buy the car

This does happen VERY RARELY. So chances are, your camry would be fine. Thats if you have good luck lol

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum. One thing you might want to start off with is to check your vin number to see if it falls into the group that is effected.
Hope this helps,
Bob

Is the car certified? if it was i'm sure they should have done the TSB's... My dad's about to buy an 07 SE V6 and he said he did all the TSB's himself.. his an MDT. But most likely i would ask the dealer..

btw welcome to TN! don't worry we are friendlier than ever before!

It's being sold by a private person, so not certified!

The car I'm interested in is a 4 cylinder (which I believe has the tranny problem also). Do you have a VIN range for 4 cylinder cars?
