Gen5 US vs. Japan spec 2az differences???

Hi, This is my first actual post on the boards(and a long one), I am more versed in the mkiii supras and first/second gen rx7's so I am a bit out of my element. A friend asked if I could swap a motor in his Japan spec(verified through vin) 2003 Toyota Camry. Long story short, I took the job, I found an awesome deal on used engine out of the same '03 Toyota Camry 4cyl auto trans... US version... The problem I am running into is that the damages to his current engine melted the intake manifold and warped the exhaust manifold flange, I found two broken exhaust valves in number two cylinder(both valves were sitting on top of the piston but the stems still in the head, severe overheat damages) Now I cant reuse his intake manifold and the new motor looks like it is equiped with a variable intake runner actuator I presume and wont allow the Japan spec throttle body to fit it due to his motor not having that actuator. My question is what would be the best way to go,
1. Find a US spec ecu and TB
2. Find a good japan spec intake manifold and transfer the Japan harness over to the new motor
3. Sell US motor and try to locate a Japan spec motor.

Thanks for reading this long post and any help would be appreciated.
