Gen6 Jump Start Car

Hey guys If I have HID's and I jump the car will I overload the HID Ballast or Relay? if they are connected to the battery?
or should I disconnect the connectors for the HID's than Jump start the car?

Sry if this is confusing it sounds weird : /

PS: I guess just disconnect the HID Connects from the battery before Jumping?

be gentle

Connecting your battery to another car is just giving a constant 12V to charge your dead battery, so I'm pretty sure it won't do any harm since it'll constantly be at 12V.

Precisely. Some people think that because this process is called "JUMP" starting, that there will be a sudden surge first.

The only surge that will happen is a surge in the amount of amps being DRAWN, but the voltage will remain quite constant.

Therefore, there is no danger to third-party devices such as HID kits and subwoofers.

they may be the cause of the dead battery though.

Only if they were left on with the engine off. Doesn't HID draw less power compared to halogens anyway?

HID consume less power once it turned on but the initial start-up HID draws a lot of power which is why we need a relay harness.
