Gen6 Wheel spacers on OEM wheels, how big?

Okay, so I've searched COUNTLESS threads on the issue of wheel spacers. Has anyone actually put wheel spacers on their factory SE 17" wheels with a drop? I have 20" MRR wheels on my car now, and for the winter time I will be putting my factory 17's back on, but with my 2.5" drop...the factory wheels are sunk in BIG TIME.

My question is: Has anyone put wheel spacers on their factory wheels? If so...how big of a spacer can you put on without it looking like a cutlass on daytons...LOL. (front and back)

Also...how big of a spacer can I get (I'm assuming H&R are the best for the job) without having to change the studs? Keep in mind I will be swapping wheels come spring time and I dont really want to keep changing the studs every time.

I have used spacers (5mm, 10mm and 15mm) for my GS rims which is OEM Lexus rims. I used H&R and Ichiba. They're both good.
Imo, a spacer thicker than 15mm would look a little too much.

Please excuse my question, but do you have to align the car after adding spacers?

Where did u use the H&R and where did u use the ichiba? (and what mm were each?) also, I'm assuming the gs wheels have a different offset than my stock SE wheels, no?

Did you change your studs? And if so....where did you buy them?

are the stock wheels 7.5? (i checked the recommend wheel thread, but the powers that be apparently thought that width wasn't too important on the stock wheels)

if so, i think you could do with a 20mm spacer, but that is just up to you. anything above 5mm most people/companies recommend you go with new studs, but they are generally included..since you are on springs though, you don't want to go hellaflush as you'll chew your tires up.

i looked at spacers too, as i am in the same boat as you, but i just bought a truck, so don't really have the extra funds to throw into a stock, curbed wheel setup.. imo, save your money for something more fun when spring comes along.

Thanks for the input, I think I'll go with 15mm rear and 5mm front H&R spacers. That way I have no issues!

The GS rims are 18x8 +45 offset. The offset is the same as stock SE but the width is a little wider.
I used 10mm Ichiba in the front and 15mm Ichiba in the rear.
I had H&R before but only at 5mm.

Know what? I think I'll go with the ICHIBA adapters for the rear (20mm) and the Ichiba regular spacer for the front (5mm). I think that will look really good. I figure since you have 18"x8" with the same offset and did a 15mm...I can do a 20mm on my 7.5" oem se wheels.

What you think?

Go for it. For the 20mm, make sure you get the Type 2 version which has the studs built in so you don't have to replace the original studs.

Anything more then 5mm or so, I'd say you need extended studs or verison with different studs.

There are still people out there that think spacers are gonna have negative effects to your car suspension and also to your safety. My rule of thumb if professional people say it will not benefit you and it will only go for looks then you might as well get rims with the offsets you really want.

Thats the thing tho...I already have the wheels I want on it. This setup that I'm doing now is for the winter!

Did I neglect to mention I had my OEM SE 17" wheels powdercoated flat black?
