5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So I was thinking the other day, where would I find someone who could build all LED tail lights. Such as this picture that I cut and pasted roughly to show what I mean.
I haven't been able to find any such lights anywhere and I'm not sure I'd want to try making these myself. I'm assuming I'd have to buy another pair of Euro tail lights and go from there. ...unless I can buy the plastic molds for the interior separately.
Any ideas?

I haven't seen any all LED tail Lights, without regular turn signal or back up lamps used, in my searching. So far only the Stop and Tails (red) positions are LED's. If you get what you want, you will be the first. Good luck, if you mod or locate the all in one led version, keep us posted.
Thanks.

most of you thought he ment regular led tail lights. he means if someone can make custom ones with turn and reverse leds also.
jonez: check out hidplanet and see if anyone is willing to take up the project. they have lots of people doing custom led setups very close to that but on different cars. if not then read up on there what you need and how to do it. if you can solder and know some basics on wiring then it's easy. also theres a few people who do led retrofits alongside hid retrofits. give them a call and see what the price would be.
personally i have though about this since i already know how to do hid retrofits but i already have led reverse and turn signal bulbs. plus i hate messing with wiring.
edit: also you can buy tim's tail lights and work from those. it's like doing a hid retrofit but with leds, resistors, and some boards.

Technically, there is LED tails WITH LED turn signal and backup lamps...just doesnt come with it as a standard
My LED tails with LED turn signal and reverse
A bit old since I have now removed the flasher module and used load resistors. Maybe I should update my video?

that's exactly what he meant

yeah but from the look u cant say that u have LEDs in your revers and turn signal, it will look different if it was real LED instead of just a bulb like this one here for corolla

I would be interested in doing this also, so if u find a way to do it let us know.

True, if you look at the image I included. But if you look at the video or in person, you'll know. Based on looks, an average person wouldnt know unless you get a flasher module like what knipersnitten had where the brake lights also become a turn signal. But with this, the turn signal slot now becomes useless.
I thought people would be happy with any LED tails in our cars. Its a really annoying project custom making a set of tails. I'm still making my custom LED tails set up for my 2ES and its been a couple months. Though I suspect its due to not having time lol....

I am happy, but would progress ever be made in anything if we were content and settled on having something only half better? I want ALL LEDS!!!
I have LEDs in turn signals and reverse lights as DCE does, however it is not even close to the same as the LEDS as the manufacturer made.
I'll keep searching. For those of you who misunderstood, please read Pawel062's post. I'll check out hidplanet, thanks a bunch Pawel.
