Storage compartment door in dash won't open

We recently bought a 2010 Camry. Last night, I put something in the storage compartment in the dash and closed it's door. This is the compartment behind the gear shift. I can't get the door to open now. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it open?

happened alot to me in the past because my wires get stuck. now, I always make sure all wires are pushed in before i close...

anyways, i was afraid to break it but you can try slippin some thin paper or plastic or wedge, to try to push free anything stuck on the bottom.

also you can apply some pressure on the top half as you push. it might help wedge the door open again

Sounds like a well designed system.

Slide a credit card partly under there and sweep it side to side, then press the bottom of the door in as far as it will go and pull the card out.

This happened to me a few times with wires leading out (don't forget, there's that small hole on the right side with the punch-out plastic piece).

Depress the panel, and use something flat, with a odd end (ie: bent coat hanger) and pull outwards.
