hey everyone, was wondering if anyone has bought these headlights? I've bought ebay headlights before for the camry and the top tab was too short. Wondering if these ones have the same problem. http://cgi.ebay.com/02-03-04-TOYOTA-...item2c516e926d

i think OEM is the best to go with bc it wont turn color n look bad after..........u got them.
if u want halo or angel eyes just add it in. or go with those SE headlight like Punks have( nice btw Punks)
CCFL or not, aftermarket products are cheap. The headlights are probably made by Eagle Eyes...the same ones that make the LED taillights.
The taillights are a bit cheap too but sturdy. I know some people have had fitment issues and some didnt. My passenger side taillight wasnt working one day and I was freaking out cuz I didnt want to go out and buy another set. Found out that the plug is loose for some apparent reason. Ended up taking electrical tape and wrapping the plug on both sides. No longer have any problems.
Mine didn't turn colour or look crappy.....but the actual output of the light SUCKED....you could hardly see at night the output was so bad....it's more of a safety thing
The monthly "How are those EBAY headlights" thread and the same answers..............SEARCH
actually have to agree with njerald on this one... i've posted in 10 different threads what I think of those ebay headlights and yet, people still post the same question!

I wouldn't even buy it for a retrofit. the materials that the headlight are made out of are pretty cheap... and there's no guarantee that the fitment is correct.

Any aftermarket headlights on eBay will be crap. Thats just how it is.
Thanks for the great reply and help but applying a blanket statement like you did just isnt right. I know for a fact that there are some great aftermarket headlights on ebay hmm lemme just jump over to the gen3 forum and talk about the depo headlights for the gen3.5 being crap and see how many people completely disagree with you. I'm not saying every aftermarket headlight is good on ebay and I know that some are terrible for a fact since I already bought a pair of the crappy gen 5 headlights several years ago which were not even made by eagle eyes or depo but some random taiwanese company. They were absolute crap but if you look closely to the pictures on this pair of ebay headlights that I posted, the design seems to be different. I'll post pictures below of what I mean.

If im not mistaken you had the dragon eyes with the projector with 5 little lenses. That is not the same as the one I've posted and although I dont disagree with your opinion that they are crap the same might not necessarily apply to this set of headlights which is obviously designed differently.

SE headlights are boring IMHO and thats why I'm trying to do another projector retrofit because you can fit new bosch projectors in place of the crappy ones they put in these aftermarket headlights and you wont need a shroud for the projector and everything looks clean. All headlights turn to a different color after use because thats just how they are. Road debris and UV light turns them yellow theres no getting around it whether or not its OEM or aftermarket the same applies.

The ebay seller hasnt responded to my question on the manufacturer and yes I know that people have had fitment issues but this seems to be a new design and therefore what was true with the older product might not apply.

Thats what I plan to do but knowing if the top tab problem is fixed is my only reservation with buying these headlights.

Thanks for your great reply but have you ever thought that I DID SEARCH? Well I did and I couldnt find any threads with headlights that look like these. Find a thread with a picture or link to headlights that look like the ones I posted at the top and i'll bow down to you oh great master of the forum!

Like I've said to all those before this seems to be a new design and the problems may or may not be fixed. Just because the last ones were crap doesnt mean the new ones have to be.

Are those depo sold on eBay? My statement is a fact. All those eBay headlights with halos are cheap chinese products. Like you said, they were made by Taiwanese company. As I stated before, my Eagle Eyes taillights wasnt as bad in fitment but I have seen some that were a little worse.
There is no quality control with these asian products. Every product will vary. One product may have a short tab, another will not. Thats just how it is for these chinese companies. Whether its a aftermarket car part, accessory or electronic, the same rule applies. Why you think they cost so low? Cheap products, cheap craftsmanship.

Contact lammydi. I believe he bought aftermarket headlights for his Gen6 to use towards a retrofit. He can give you more info about retrofitting asian headlights.

Although its a "different design" the craftsmanship is the same. If this same company has different designs, it will be the same or have different problems. Say for instance, the outer shell is the same mold no matter what design it is. The only difference is inside the headlights.
If you're going to retrofit, why not just buy some used OEM headlights on eBay and do whatever it is you want on those. The material on these are cheap. I wouldnt buy aftermarket car products on eBay unless I have no choice. I bought my Eagle Eyes taillights because Toyota doesnt have such product (prior to 2010). I got my headlights retrofitted and purchased OEM headlights and had them painted black. I could of just simply bought one of these with halos and already painted blank and called it a day but in the long run, I'll probably end up spending more.

The gen3.5 headlights are depos and are sold on ebay and are chinese made. As for your statement being a fact, I would have to respectfully disagree because there are plenty of people that have bought headlights on ebay that are chinese made that are fine and have no fitment issues. I have bought several pairs myself. As for fitment issues there will always be fitment issues but the tolerances will be ok on headlights that are of the same design and same manufacturer. How do I know? I've bought several pair of the same headlights for my gen 3. did they all fit the same yes. was the fitment perfect? no. Am I even asking if the fitment is perfect for the pair of headlights in this post? no. Am I asking if it is better than before for other aftermarket headlights? Yes. As for contacting lammydi. Not necessary because its not for a gen 6 and I have already retrofitted headlights before I am not asking for retrofitting help because I dont need it. All I really want to know is if anyone here has bought these specific headlights and if the top tab is long enough to bolt on. As for your comment that "Although its a "different design" the craftsmanship is the same" thats totally not true because it depends on who is manufacturing it. You are assuming that it is made by the same company and it may very well be but there is a chance that the actual manufacturing plant in china is different from the one used in older aftermarket headlights. Why? because everyone in China wants business and everyone will undercut each other to get the job. Does this sacrifice quality? possibly but we will only know if someone has bought these headlights. Regarding your comment that I should buy OEM headlights, thats exactly what I dont want to do. Do you not understand what I said before? I am not buying OEM headlights because the retrofitting of HID projectors into OEM stock headlight housings creates a large gap between most any bezel used and the sides of the headlight housing. To me this looks ugly and terrible. My solution is to use these headlights and replace the projector inside with a much better unit of my choosing. Since the aftermarket headlights were designed with projectors in mind the front portion of the headlight housing has a opening just wide enough for any other projector like the bmw projectors I am using. Therefore the headlight looks completely stock without any ugly gaps. I could also just paint the whole OEM stock housing black like you have done, which would reduce the appearance of the gap between the bezel and stock housing but black headlights on a light blue gen 5 camry looks bad. As for the money aspect, I wouldnt even consider modding if money was an issue because retrofitting HIDs costs alot. In actuality this is for my girlfriends gen 5 camry and I've already wasted $150 on the original headlights that I'm going to have to trash. I'm just trying to get some factual information from anyone who may have bought this exact headlight not anyone who's bought something else. I accept all of your opinions but you dont need to make it seem like its the only truth. If you cant answer what I ask with facts backed up by proof then please dont even post because its a waste of both our times.
