Gen5 2005 Camry Standard (CE) Adding Factory keyless entry

Hello

I just bought an '05 camry standard CE which doesn't have the factory keyless entry. I was wondering if anybody tried or succefully added the factory keyless entry. Does anybody know if its wired up so you can just put the control modules and sensors? Where are they located in the car? They are sold on ebay relatively cheap and I was wondering what parts I need to complete this project. I hate aftermarket alarms, factory is alot better

Thanks in advance

If you search for "keyless entry" I'm sure you'll pull up some good information.

My opinion.. The factory system integrates better (priority unlocking, nice piezo sensor chirp, dome light supervision, turns off the headlights if you hit lock twice etc..) but I don't regret replacing it with a Viper alarm system on my Camry. Longer range, better protection, and lots of custom options.

Good luck!

I tried doing some reasearch on this with no luck. I'd prefer the stock, I had too many problems with aftermarket in my other cars

i personally did the VIP RS3200 + for my 2003 camry SE,
there are two different types,
one is for no keyless entry, no alarm, VIP RS3200
one is for keyless entry, but no alarm, VIP RS3200 plus

my 2003 camry SE only came with keyless entry, no alarm, but pretty much directly plug in, no wire splice, tapping, just need to take off all the cover from side kick, under dash, steering column cover to get to the connectors.

I would assume that if your came came with no keyless entry or alarm, it wont have wiring. I could be wrong. Why not go to dealer and ask them?

I know you said you wont get aftermarket but you're better off. Factory isnt always better in this case. For example, the remote start for Gen6 sucks. You remote start the car and the engine shuts off when you open the door. Which than requires you to turn the ignition. Aftermarkets keep the car running when you open the door and turn the ignition. Unless you press the break without key in ignition.

In one of those links, is a link to service manuals at camrystuff. Go and compare wiring to both Gens and see for yourself if they have the same wiring.

Get an aftermarket alarm/entry installed by a professional or authorized installer and call it a day. Any problems, its covered with warranty and installer can fix it.

What was involved as far as parts/cost? I just got one ('05 CE) myself.
