Advice for swapping tranny from 4 to 5 speed.

Hey guys, I'm stuck with a problem. My camry 2003 v6 LE needs a new tranny. I was wondering how possible is it to swap it with a 5 speed SE version instead of the standard 4 speed version it came with. Seeing how I need to put all the effort to change transmission, I was wondering if it is possible to switch it with the factory v6 SE 5 speed tranny.

Again, I'm not looking for a AT to MT swap, just a direct 4 speed from v6 LE to 5 speed v6 SE.

My camry does not have vvti either. What would be the least I need to change for my car?

Wow......that design on your hood really throws the car off. As for the transmission, there might be some work involved since it might require a new ecu and such.

Does the Gen 5 come with a 5speed V6? If it doesn't then you can't do it, cuz you can't put one from a I4.

I'm pretty sure there was no manual available on the Gen5 V6. It would be too costly to undergo such a custom project on a family car worth $10000 in the market so I recommend not going that route.

He isn't asking for a 5speed MANUAL...he's asking if he can put the 5speed AUTO in place of the current 4 speed AUTO he has now.
