Gen5 Fuel Injection/Battery

I had problems this morning with my car not starting. It sputtered and wouldn't start and it reset the car clock. I guessed it might have been low battery but then few seconds later i did it again and it slowly started. So I went to the gym for 2 hours then when I was heading home the car wouldn't start it would sputter then after a few more tries it would turn on. I figured I would go to the dealer and find out whats up with my car. Apparently, they said the battery was dead because it failed the test. Then they say there was carbon buildup in the throttle body that may be affecting my engine starting.

Total Price: $100 for fuel injection service and $85 for battery replacement. Was the fuel injection service necessary or a waste. I noticed that the engine ran smoothly afterwards and really speedy when accelerating.

damn ... i bet a can of fuel injector cleaner, 5 minutes of your time to clean your throttle body and some seafoam would've yielded the same results.
Does it give you more info on exactly what was done with the cleanup?
