I have an '06 double cab Tacoma, tomorrow I'm going to drive 2.5 hours with intent to buy an 06 Camry XLE with 34K. Is there anything that I should be looking for? Are there any problems typically associated with this model and all of its elecronic gizmos??
I love my '06 Tacoma and I have 104K on it already, the reliability has been great. That's why I'm looking at this Camry for my wife. Any heads up would be appreciated.
Here is the deal... loaded.. leather... moon roof... everything... good tires, a couple little scratches...34K for $16,000, what do you think?

Is this an I4 or V6? Private party or dealer retail?
Used department of the dealership that originally sold it, it is an off-lease car. It's a V6.... I drove an I4 and although it had enough power to break the tires loose, I didn't like the high rev and hard shift.

Sounds a little high price to me but Obama policies have jacked up used car prices. Check value in blue book.
Agreed. For example, if the car was wrecked it could have been a hit and run (without a police report) and could have been repaired in a small shop without being reported.
Bring a mechanic with you or ask the dealership to take the car YOURSELF to a mechanic of YOUR choosing. Be sure to look for any irregularities in the body of the car (misalignments, different paint color, overspray, etc.) A sign of any of those oddities could indicate that the car was in an accident.
Regarding price, I would definitely try to get that number lowered. Even if it is an 2006 XLE V6, fully loaded, 34K miles, etc., it just seems a little high.
I am sure its certified. So you will have a warranty on it. I wouldn't waste time taking it to a private mechanic, but thats your choice. If you are worried about accidents take it to a good body shop and have them inspect it. 16K is a good price in my neck of the woods, but that doesn't mean anything either does bluebook value. You have to compare it to what similar cars are selling for in the surrounding area.
I checked KBB and comps, the price is $47 lower that good condition from a private seller. Typically that is less that a dealer will go. I was comfortable with the money and I tried to beat him a little more. The original asking price was $16,999... I got $1000 out of him and a full take of gas.... drove it home tonight! I think that the price was in line and it is a great car, so far I'm thinking that I did OK.
I could have spent less on a GEN6 without leather and a sunroof but my wife was liking those options. I could have gotten an '08 with the same package for $19k and 10k less miles, that would have broken the piggy bank!

ProperElite, your picture is my car exactly. I also forgot to mention in the original post that it's a V6 car. I'm anxious to drive it, I test drove it but my wife drove it the 125 miles home. It's no Tacoma, but it's nice...LOL
My only disappointment was that the state of Ohio has a B.S. fee of $250 for every car sold in the state!! Had I known that, I probably wouldn't even have driven out there to buy it! My deal was IMO just good to average, had my wifes current car not been on such borrowed time, I would have waited and bought one locally and probably gotten the same deal.
