My car stinks when I punch it

I am no car guru and I have done some searching with no real specific answers. Whenever I floor the gas or come close to flooring the gas I can smell what seems to be rotten eggs or what I can assume is my cat. But that's the only time this smell surfaces. I have read that the car is possibly running lean and was wondering if anyone else has had this symptom. I have been recently putting in 91 octane fuel in for the last 2 months if that can even be a cause. I just wanted to throw this out on the forums before I spend 5 hours on a Saturday at the dealer, thx in advance.

look at the laws regarding the exhaust components.. here in cali- .. its 80,000 miles or 7 years. if its a problem, complain enough to the dealership and by law, they'll replace it. i went in @ 82K and i complained my balls off-still got nowhere. good luck!
