Gen5 Error code's on 05 camry

Hey there everyone. So, I was driving along on the interstate going about 70 mph with about half a tank of gas and all of a sudden the check engine light came on. I was surprised that nothing was vibrating or shaking or anything. The ride was still smooth and I pulled into the closest exit and pulled into a gas station to see if anything was leaking. Nope nothing! So I went to the nearest Auto Zone and asked them to tell me the Error Codes. So here are the error codes:

1. P0441 - EVAP control system failure
2. P0446 - Evaporative emmissions control low/Bad leak
3. P0455 - charcoal cannister bad/fuel vapor leak

This was 2 days ago. Ride quality and fuel economy is still the same. I am still driving around on the half tank of gas and it's at the 3/4 mark. Here's the question/questions I have:

1. Friends/family members have told me that don't go to the dealers as they will rip me a new hole in my wallet. After much research I have found that it might be as small as a gas cap not tightened properly. Is it advisable as there is nothing wrong with driveabilty or the fuel economy(as of yet)?

2. Is this an easy fix? Can I just get the parts and fix it myself?

3. Is this a common problem? My car is an 05 and has 75k miles on it. My dad has a 90 corrolla and has had no problems at all for all of its 300k miles(except for regular maintainence/and changing out the exhaust muffler).

I need some feedbacks before I get nervous and just take to the dealer and get it fixed.

Thanks for all the help. Let me know fellas!!

Yeah, I would suspect a loose gas cap. However, earlier Toyota EVAP systems themselves were faulty (disintegration on the inside). Today's Toyotas, unfortunately, are not as reliable as your dad's 1990 Corolla. Just check out what problems people are having with today's clunking Corolla.

So re-tighten your gas cap. Clear the code by pulling the EFI fuse for a minute. See if the code comes back.

As a matter of fact, the gas cap was loose. I checked it as soon as I got word that it might be just the gas cap! Sorry guys, forgot to mention this in the original post. I just don't know how did it get loose! I always tighten it to hear the three click. I am going to fill up the gas tank full tomorrow and remove the negative terminal off the battery to clear the MIL. Let's hope it's just the gas cap!! I still think toyota car's will still outlast every car on the road!! They just have to start putting quality in front of quantity!!

Was it your "MAINT REQ'D" light that came on? I know you said that you had your codes pulled, but your light might not have been reset after your last oil change...at least thats what happened with me.

Similar story, I was driving on the interstate then all of a sudden my "MAINT REQ'D" light came on and I knew there was a Toyota dealership near by so I pulled in and the tech that I spoke to said that particular light was only for oil changes and that my local Toyota dealership did not reset it after my last oil change.
