Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
hey guys, seems like my yoko avid V4S's are ready to go soon and I am looking into new tires. Here are a few that I have picked out so far. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Just a little info; these are going on stock 16" SE wheels, no suspension work done except for RSB, mainly city driving and seldom do i drive aggressively.
had versados on the 07 gray xle and they were excellant. loved em. the falkens are real good but they have some traction noise. idk about there 16s and other lines but i love the ride of the 452s but not the noise.

I recommend the Toyo Versado LX tires. I almost got a set of Yokohama Avid myself but decided to go with the Toyo tires because we've owned Toyo tires in the family before, too.
The Versado LX has been one of the greatest "upgrades" to my car. The handling is very visibly superior to the stock Michelin Energy tires. The stopping distance is shorter, the grip during hard acceleration is greater and they are SO QUIET! At city speeds or highway cruising, these are damn quiet.
I've had my current set in stock size (215/55/R17) since the spring. I've put on about 20000KM on them and I haven't noticed any difference in noise or performance. I'd highly recommend them.
Apparently the Versado is actually made in Japan. In 20000KM I haven't required a re-balancing yet. With my old Michelins, I would have my mechanic re-balance them every 7500KM because I'd start getting vibrations and thumping.

i'm a fan of the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires. ever since i switched the stock tires out for these, its like the car is a different beast. Though, that's not saying much, considering how shitty the stock tires are.
though, it doesn't look like discount tire has those tires in the size you're looking for... nor is the price what you're looking for from looking at those links.

I had a good run with my yokohama yk520.. i had them for at least a year and still had 8/32's on them *originally had 11/32's. i drive my car daily 25 miles. and some occational going out and all that. but when i switched to 18's they wont cover the 50k mile warranty on them. so i went with yokohama avid w4s. quiet ride

Looking on www.tirerack.com, the highest user review (8.5) seems to be the Michelin Primacy MXV (500-A-A). There is a 8.3 General Altimax (440-A-A). Both of these are listed as TireRack "Best Sellers".
Yokohama has some higher raters as well. For instance, 8.1 AVID TRZ (520-A-A). 7.8 ADVAN S4 (400-AA-A).
I thought Bridgestones/Firestones are bottom of the barrel, roll-over tires. (Of course Explorers were on them, so viewpoints vary). I personally don't touch Bridgestones with a 10ft pole.
