5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I ran a SEARCH several times to try to find information on this topic, so my apologies if I missed a thread.
That said, I was wondering if anyone here has seen, driven, or actually owns a 2010 Camry SE 6-speed manual? I am assuming that they will be very rare.......
Much prefer a manual. Had a 89 Camry wagon stick drove it 350K and never had to change the clutch. Also have a BMW 7 and a TL 6 speed. I see both sides but would like to get a manual SE. That being said they are almost non-existent. It appears they need to be dealer ordered, I guess the term is preferenced. I'm thinking of the SE with packages 1 and 2.
I haven't driven a Camry SE V6, but I drove a 2008 ES350 for a week, and while it was both a really nice car and shockingly powerful, it just wasn't that engaging to drive.
As for my interest in the Camry SE I4 6MT, it is the only reasonably-priced, mid-size, manual transmission vehicle I can think of that offers performance-oriented suspension tuning from the factory. That is as compared to the Fusion, Mazda6, Altima, etc.
I'm not only amazed that Toyota makes it, but has also kept making it and even upgraded it for 2010.
If it weren't for so much traffic here in the metropolitan area I'd get a 6spd. manual in a NY minute. When you drive a stick you feel and are in control.

LOL it's an ES350, not exactly the definition of a drivers car.
It's supposed to coddle you in luxury.
