Faded door trim?

I have a question. About 3 years ago, my '02 XLE was involved in an accident, and as a result the rear driver-side door had to be replaced. Over time, the black metal trim on that one door has faded and is almost starting to look a little corroded. My question, is there anything I can do to fix this and restore the shine so it matches the rest of the doors? This obviously isn't a major issue, but it just annoying to me more than anything. yeah I've seen that stuff, but it says it's for plastic or vinyl? Would it work ok on metal?

other people on here have used it on that part of the car, i dont see why not.. is that part really metal?
