you do realize 8000k and 10000k HIDs are less effective than your stock halogen lights right?
Higher Kelvin's does not mean "more light output"...
Do NOT put HID's in your fogs - 1. It's VERY VERY unsafe for oncoming traffic. 2. It's illegal. 3. Just plain stupid, irresponsible and ignorant.
Just get Nokya aftermarket bulbs, they're "whiter" than your stock halogen. Also you'll need a heavy duty wiring harness with them.
Please do a search as this topic has been covered before.
my 8000k in my low beams are significantly brighter than stock halogens.
and i understand high kelvin does not mean more light output.
the closer you get to pure white, or somewhere around 4300k is the brightest one (light output wise)
But i'll def look into the nokya bulbs, where can i find the heavy duty wire harness?
and i tried a search, and i found many about foglights, but not exactly pertaining to my question since it was a two-part question.. thanks though punks, ill look into the nokya!

8k already looks like a honda civic form 1999, 10k in the fogs is going to make it look worse.
Stick to the halogens and call it a day.
8000k does not look like a 99 civic lol if you put it on the right car (such as an 07 camry) it actually looks good.
also, i had the same mentality but because i have the 55w kit (not the 35w) from retro-solutions, the 8000k actually seems like its in between a 6000k and 8000k.
looks pretty decent..
10000k in the HEADLIGHT would be plain stupidity, but in the fogs (i am really never going to use, unless im rolling up to my gf's place and i want to impress her with the blue, hence the 10000k idea in the fogs )
just a thought guys - just looking for opinions!!!

get 5k...bright light with just a hint bluer than 4300k...i got 5k top and bottom and love it

Anyways, many people say HIDs in the fog create a lot of glare, namely due to the reflector style housing that exist in the fog lights. Using Nokya bulbs or other high output halogen bulbs are more effective and safer, your low beam ends up doing most of the light output for vision anyways.
As for low beams, there's a lot of different opinions of using HIDs or not, many just say if you want a color change, go for an aftermarket style halogen bulb. Otherwise do it properly with an HID retrofit.
I had Nokya halogens in my fog previously and had no issues with needing a wire harness or anything.

Yeah its best to go with halogen bulbs, i tried 3000k hid's in my fogs and i felt i killed every person on the road...i ended up going with 2500k luminics

If you have a gf already, why do you need to impress her? If you have to add high kelvin lights to your fog to "impress" her, theres something wrong.
"Hey baby...you like my lights? They're high kelvin temperature and their blue...just for you"

u can drop in hids in the fogs but they would need to be retrofited with some projectors that have a cutoff shield so it doesn't blind others. yellow is used because fog lights have a purpose. they help you see in fog and bad weather. the yellow is common because the color gives you the most visibility in this weather. halogen is close enough so they don't need to use 3k bulbs.
also by putting in hids in the fogs you are just asking for trouble. the fogs arent designed for the temp that hids give and it will probably destroy the chrome inside quick. also theres not too many good spots down there so more than likely you will get water pretty close to the ballasts so theres a chance they might go quick. the worst problem is the chrome burning and also the glare.
if you want my thumbs up then get some 35w ddm ballasts with 6 bulbs and some blazer fogs and retro them down there. they have a nice flicker so will change colors when you drive and your girl will like the lights
