5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I was looking at Corolla XRS models with a 5speed MT when I heard the 2010 SE's had a 6 speed manual with the new 2.5L motor. I have a family member who works for toyota and I tried to purchase one on the discount but I received word from toyota that I can't get that car because they don't make them in that configuration.
the toyota builder says I have to choose the base model Camry to get the manual transmission but on the Camry model page its available with the 6 Speed Manual.
I looked on most Souther California dealerships inventory (I know its not very accurate) to see if they have any manual transmission in stock but I have yet to see one. I even looked to find a Corolla XRS too but no dealerships have those in stock either.
Is it possible to get a 4 Cylinder SE model with a 6 speed manual or is that a special order car?

I kind of guessed there weren't too many Camrys with a manual transmission available. I'm not sure if i can get the discount on a car that has to be special ordered.
I just wish these dealerships knew what they were talking about, they could have said at least it can be ordered and not lie about them not making them.

Most salesman have no clue. They want to sell you an in stock vehicle...
according to the brochure and sales manager i dealt with, you can't get that configuration. if you can, i'm going to be pissed b/c i had to order an auto instead
