2002 Gen 5 alarm problem

Hi all

My end-2002 gen 5 Camry has been giving me intermittent problems on the alarm. More than 50% of the time after I locked the car with the remote, the alarm will go off after between 10 to 30 seconds delays. I have switched off everything inside the car but it still behaves like this. It looks as if though something was still consuming power thus activating the alarm. The undeterminated delay in the alarm activation also puzzled me.

Can I ask:

1. Is there any way I can lock the car without activating the alarm please (I try to use the key to lock the alarm but it still/also activates the alarm);

2. Is there any way I can reset the alarm? Can I just take the main car battery out for a while to reset it please?

Any other suggestions/ helps would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Have you checked out ----> http://www.camrystuff.com/index.php?page=Gen5_Manuals ?

This should help you troubleshoot the problem, the door lock tests would be a good place to start.
