Gen5 PICS: Just finished intalling my new spoiler

Just finished bolting on my aftermarket spoiler and wiring the LED brakelight. Here are some quick and dirty pics. My car is filthy and the pics are crappy, but eh...

and a bonus pic of my upgrade from gen 5 to gen 5.5 bumper, foglights and headlights, also DIY

Rather than soldering or cutting of wires, maybe its best to use taps..

http://www.v-leds.com/BlinkerWarning...p7420629.html#

"Use Scotchlok™ Tap Connector 804 to electrically connect a (tap) wire end to a through (run) wire, insulate and provide a moisture resistant seal for the connection."

This way, if you install on the wrong wire, you're still able to put it on the correct wire without cutting a wire completely. I only splices the outer wire to gain access to copper underneath. You can get these at automotive shops or hardware stores.

If he twisted, I hope he used atleast a twist cap to cover the exposed wires or even crimps.

looks good, glad you used a twist cap, i would also use electrical tape over the cap to keep everything nice and secure. Or even better just solder the wires together.

thanks. I soldered them first then put on the twist caps for protection. Didn't think of putting electrical tape over the caps.

I should probably do it, but I already put the trunk liner back on and don't feel like taking it off again!

yeah, I will end up doing it just not tonight! its dark and cold out right now. maybe tomorrow morning.

the caps are on really tight and really deep, with the copper way past the colored wire coating so it will be fine for now.

lol. everytime I do a mod I think it's going to be my last, but modding ends up becoming a bottomless pit. I'm sure a lot of people on this forum know how that feels. what's next so far:

1. going to paint the tail lights (everything but the lenses) with base and clearcoat to match the body of the car. Also going to buy a pair of spiderlite LED bulbs for the tail lights.

2. already ordered chrome door handles and chrome door pillar trim. waiting for them to get here

3. 35% tint all around

4. HID retrofit

5. Brushed aluminum dash kit & new shifter

6. body kit

then if I win the lottery or find a suitcase with $100 000 in it I'll swap the transmisssion for a manual tranny and install a turbo kit among other things.

what's been done so far (it was a bone stock 03 LE basic options no fogs):

Katzkin black leather interior (including door panels)

SE struts and springs

gen 5.5 OEM SE Headlights, front Bumper and Foglights

Customized Sportivo replica grille with SS mesh

17" falken torque 5 gunmetal wheels on 225-50-17

Chrome trim around the windows everywhere except the door pillars

APC aftermarket tail lights

and now the spoiler
