I have an '08 with over 30,000 miles so I dont think I can even use the TSB that's out for '07s with the dash rattle.
Being a hands-on type of guy, I tried taping down/insulating almost every little thing on the right side near the tweeter (where the rattling comes from). IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS because it just isnt going away! and this evening, my left side started rattling.. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
During my first winter with the car I stuffed some foam rubber down between the dash panel and the windshield frame and it hasn't been a problem since.

can you be more specific about the material? maybe a pic link or something.. thanks
I'm assuming that you're talking about weatherstrip foam, which I will buy soon.
For some reason, I have a feeling it's something inside though.. I took off the tweeter and felt around there and it doesnt appear as if anything would rattle besides the wires maybe touching the plastic pipes for the a/c. Maybe something fell in the vent?
I'll test it with the weatherstrip first. I've spent a total of 3 hours already on this damn annoyance! Once I find you, mr. rattle, I will celebrate like it's 1999.
I took my 08 LE in and they pulled the dash and "re-foamed" it. Just thicker foam around the mounting clips, I think. (Similar to the moon roof rattle TSB.) Fixed my cold-weather dash rattle.
My '08 has a weird rattle but only when my wife is riding with me. So I'm guessing she is the one rattling. Honestly don't hear it when I'm in the car alone.
I have an 08 LE as well. Was it covered under warranty or did you have to pay out-of-pocket?

My 07 dash was replaced under warranty.
When they removed the dash they found that a couple of clips had been broken during factory instal.
Take it to the dealer if they wont fix it call Toyota customer service.

I've tried weatherstripping everywhere.. tried completely taking off the pillar and the tweeter.. but still no luck.
So I'm assuming it is the clips like everyone is saying and I'm gonna have to take this to the dealer. I really dont want the dealer to tear off my whole dash and whatnot (if they'll even do it for me at 40k miles on an '08), but the rattling is pissing me off now.
I first have to watch the weather and find a really cold day to take it there.....
tell me bout it i have an 07 with 30303 miles and yes that is true miles at this moment lol, well anyways i didnt have a raddle till i got my exhaust done, and when the exhaust hits a sertain point it raddles the dash, but it is not all the time only when the exhaust hits that certain decibal, i wish i knew what was causing it
My car developed a very annoying rattle near the dash tweeter location on the right as well. It's driving me nuts but my car is out of warranty so a few hours of labor at the dealer will be $300-400! I'm not quite ready to pay this at the moment.

I finally had my dash rattle fixed on my 2007, under warranty. TSB #039-08 (NV008-07 is obsolete). They did a nice job, and the car is now rattle-free. I think your '08 might be included in this, but it has to be below 3 years or 36,000 miles. See if you can find a copy of TSB #039-08 to see if your '08 is covered by it.

Did you ever get a fix to this? I have the same issue.
