Gen6 Deformed rims and corrosion tears =(

I had a nail in one of my tires and I went to America's Tire for free repair and balancing and rotation.

They told me one of my rims are deformed... probably from potholes and the rims are starting to corrode a bit on the inside.

I JUST got new tires on these rims so I don't really want to let them go. I got these rims used and I have a feeling I should of balanced them earlier.

my Questions:

1) if i drive normal conditions, will the deformed rim get worse naturally by me keep driving on it or will it just stay the same.

2) If i don't really feel or care for the vibrations, there's no physical harm done to the car right? My alignments have been coming up fine so i don't think it's too bad.

3) How bad is a corroded rim? will it just break one day in half or something?! And if I get it rechromed, does that stop the corrosion?

Thanks if u can help, any tip is welcomed.

Define what is meant by deformed. As CJCride asked, are these aluminum alloys or are they steel rims? Are they OEM or aftermarket rims? A picture of what they/you consider to be deformed would help a lot.

the rims are probably bent

in theory, vibrations will fatigue the metal, but we're talking cars, so you won't see the effects any time soon

Corrosion is BAD it causes the structure to lose structural rigidity or strength

i have lexus gs400 chrome rims, but they were used and badly scratched up with rim curb marks, my guess thats what started the corrosion.

basiclly he showed me as he was balacing the wheel, it looked kinda wobbly... he kept pushing me to get new rims but i could tell it was more from a sales point of view then a safety pov

I just want a few years off these rims before they are destroyed and then i don't care, but i don't want the deformed rim to break anythign else.

alignment has been good, isn't that a good determination?

If alignment is good, then just sand and coat the corroded areas so it doesn't spread any further and you should be good

For the California readers, find a place for this guy who can straighten and repair the wheels. He's in California. There has to be a place in easy distance of him. Ity took force to bend the wheel. Proper force, applied expeditiously, can true the wheel.
