My Baby is going under the knife tomorrow

It all started about 2 weeks ago, the day after i got my exhaust done (well that's when i first noticed it) well anyways what was happening is that she was slipping, in her transmission that is. starting from a stand still and accelerating sometimes she wouldn't catch into second gear so it would redline up to 7K rpm, i would then have to let of gas andtill she cought the next gear. This continued threw all gears after that, but the worst part was sometimes when i was cruising/ driving at a regular speed like on a freeway it seemed like it would just slip out and go into neutral, and i would have no power going to my wheels and once again the engine would rev to 7K rpm, well last friday i took her in for her diagnostics and she came back with 5 errors all leading to a transmission solinoid, but they are not sure if that is all the problem is, so tomorrow they are dropping out the transmission and if they see any metal flakes at all in it then i am getting a whole new transmission, if they dont see flakes they are just going to replace the solinoid and see if that fixes the problem if not then again i will get an all new transmission, so wish me luck that it all gets fixxed and everything is alright with my car

No my daughteris fine, being a little cranky right now but she is fine, it is my car, i was just worried that the factory drive train warranty would be void since i have modded the intake and exhaust but luckily they said nothing about that stuff so i am good to go this is all covered under warranty luckily or else this would cost me a load of money

Was yours for the same reason? And how long did it take them to swap it out and was it done at a Toyota dealer ship?

good luck dude.

I'm sure they will end up having to give you a new tranny eventually, even if they don't find any metal shavings for the time being. Whenever the tranny swap happens I'm sure your ride will be fine.

I'm still baffled by the fact that the gen 6 V6's aren't available with a 6 speed manual tranny. I understand designing cars for mass sales & soccer moms, but come on.... at least throw the enthusiasts a bone once in a while.

i can't think of anything that would make the camry a sporty car. camrys were made for "families", if you want sporty i guess mitsubishi or subaru come to mind.
