You need to back in and search for HID or high intensity and get some ideas from that. There are many threads.

Before you say you want brighter headlights, do some research on what you want. I can sell you a set of "brighter" bulbs and charge you $100. You need to know what you want rather than walk into a store, plop your money and say you want this. This will have ripped off.

Ultimate Retrofit thread/hid thread.

If you get plug and play HIDs, there are vendors on this forum (in the main forum all the way at the bottom) or in the FOR SALE section that sells kits. You can easily purchase them for under $150 and install it yourself or have a friend install it for you.

Just walking into a store can cost more for parts and labor. The PNP kits are a cheap alternative.

If you want a true and safer HID option, get a retrofit. Everything you need to know between the two is in the link I posted above.

Another option is maybe meet up with someone from the forum who has HID kit put in and have them help you since they have done it already. They may do it free because they're generous like that or you can offer to pay them a little something or even pay for lunch for their troubles. All you need to do is purchase HID kit. There are also other threads on what type of HID kits are available on the web and what brands.

The only way to get brighter lights is to install HIDs. If I live in SD, I can install it for you, as long as you have all the parts.

If you weren't aware, DDM Tuning is right by downtown La Jolla I believe. I'd buy from them as they are local and I wouldn't have to wait. I can help you install them next time I go down. I have to replace a ballast that fried on me

Baloney.

You can do the H9 mod and go from 55W to 65W low beams.

+1. i say do ddm tuning. the kits are cheap, have life time warrenty, and lots of us retrofit folks use them, specially for 55w ballasts.

NJerald is right on the money - a friend of mine did the H9 conversion to H11 - took him a few minutes per bulb, and the difference was really noticeable. Cheaper alternative than paying two to three times as much for PIAA XtremeWhite, or other "whiter" bulbs. The Lumen output is much higher on the h9 bulb than on the h11, and the "color" of the light is much whiter than stock too.

Going to do the conversion on my car next spring.

~2,100 lumens for the H9 vs. ~1,350 lumens with the H11.
