Lightbulb 05 Camry Engine Temperature

Hey all,

Seem to be having a little problem with a 05 Camry. The engine gauge needle on the odometer seems to be a little off, just notice this problem tonight. The needle returns to halfway mark when the car is fully shut off instead of returning back down to C(cool).

When the car is started the needle goes past the H(hot) marker. Opened up the hood to see if the engine was overheating but it didnt seem to be. Had no smoke on the 30 min drive back home. Was not able to check the coolant levels since it was dark so will do that in the morning.

Anybody have any idea if this is a potential hazard or just a small error in the needle? Also, the easiest way to fix this problem?

It happens to me twice. Each time it is at different location. If you leave the car off for some times, the needle will return to normal range. Check this link out.
