2005 Camry - Brake lights, ABS lights, check engine lights on, power windows off ....

The other day I got into my 2005 Camry and as I started the engine I noticed that the brake light was on, the ABS light, the check engine-light - all on. The speedometer wasn't working anymore, also the power-windows weren't working and the fuel gauge was going up and down as it pleased. It went away the next time I got in the car, but reappeared a few days later. It keeps coming and going and I never even dare to open my windows anymore if they do work, just in case they get stuck. I had my alternator checked and also was wondering if it might have anything to do with the ignition or the coil? To me it sounds like a short, but I am not sure. What could it be and how can I fix it? What am I looking at money-wise if I have to take her in? Please help - anyone?

Check your alternator again: around 14.6 volts running, battery around 12.4 not running. Make sure battery contacts are clean and tight.

Good luck,

Sam

Wow, you're faster than lightning! ;-)
I did have the alternator checked and it was a little low, but not to where it should affect my electrical stuff. Also, I checked my battery as well, everything clean and tight as it should be. Could it be a short you think?

Try unplugging the battery and leave it unplugged for a few hours to reset the ECU, otherwise take it to the dealer and let them run a diagnostic test.
